Born on the first of August 1976, Nwankwo Christian Nwosu Kanu popularly known as Papilo is a household name whenever the Nigerian football or Arsenal as a club is mentioned. The former professional footballer joined Arsenal in 1999 and made a total of 198 appearances scoring 44 goals.
He was part of the Arsenal team tagged the “invincibles” that finished the 2003-2004 premier league season without a single defeat and was voted 13th in the “Gunners’ Greatest 50 Players” poll in 2008. The forward player is often recognised as one of the best players in African football history and is also noted as the only Nigerian player to have won the champions league, premier league, FA cup and an Olympic gold medal.
