With the start of the new season ahead, many clubs have sold out some of their stars and others brought in new minds and still are. Amongst such clubs that are still buying is the English professional football club Arsenal.
The famous Gooners club have spent over a hundred million euros on signing new players alone. Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, Gabriel Jesus and now Oleksandr Zinchenko all came in this summer and with their arrival, the team has been unstoppable throughout their preseason friendly matches.
Speaking to Arsenal’s Manager Mikel Arteta about the newest player on the list, he said “I know the player really well, he’s an exceptional footballer and he is someone that is going to bring as well another competitive edge to that dressing room.” Although an official statement is yet to be made public to announce the move of the player from Manchester City, Zinchenko was seen arriving and sitting comfortably with the Club’s technical Director Eduardo César Daud Gaspar, popularly known as Edu at The Exploria Stadium where the club had their last match.
Confirming the suspected reason why the Ukrainian was bought Arteta said “He can play in both (defence and midfield). He was a natural No.10 early in his career and we converted him into a left-back which can do a lot of things that we want in our way of playing”. “That versatility is something that is going to be important for the team because we have players in that position who are more specific full-back”
The boss said there are still a few formalities that need to be attended to hence the delay in announcing the player officially but it will soon be rectified and they are more than excited to have the player on their side.
