Ajax gaffer, Erik Ten Haag has suggested that he is set to move to a bigger club in the near future as speculations continue to link him to the Manchester United job.

Ten Haag has been with the Dutch giants since 2017, winning every domestic titles within that period.

However, the 51 year old has hinted that he his now ready to make a move to a big club abroad if the challenge presents itself.

“I think I’m ready for it [to move to a top foreign club],” Ten Hag responded when asked by the Dutch news outlet de Volkskrant.

“I would be happy to take up that challenge, but I’m not chasing it. If it turns out that that step will never come, I will not say that my coaching career has failed.

“But I think I have sufficient qualities to take on that challenge.”

Ten Haag was previously linked with the Manchester United job before Ralf Ragnick took over as interim manager until the end of the season after he reportedly declined a mid-season move.

He has an excellent 73% win record in his time in the Netherlands and has also built a reputation around nurturing young players.

It is however believed that Ten Haag will be open to succeed Ralf Ragnick when the German takes over his two year consultancy role. This isn’t seen a problem because Ten Haag plays a similar pressing system to Ralf Ragnick’s counter pressing style.

Currently, Ten Haag’s Ajax are top of the Eredivisie and will also finish top of their Champions League having won all five games this season.
