Dantouma Traore, a winger for the Colorado Rapids, is training with Arsenal. London is aware of the situation.

The 17-year-old, who began his career at Trenton Central High School before going on to the Players Development Academy, has been capped by the United States at the under-17 level and is considered one of the most exciting prospects.

Traore joined the New York Red Bulls in 2018 and has made one league appearance for Colorado, another MLS team owned by Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke.

Traore hasn’t decided whether or not he’ll leave Colorado yet, but sources close to the player claim that he’ll be doing summer training with a number of European clubs, including Scottish heavyweights Rangers.

In March, Colorado general manager Padraig Smith said, “Yaya is an intriguing player who has already showed significant promise through his achievements in the USL Championship as a 16-year-old.”

“On the ball, he’s strong and explosive, and his ability to take on defenders makes him a difference maker.’

As they grapple with the new Brexit laws, Arsenal has been scouting the North and South American markets for potential new arrivals.

Following Brexit, new laws have made it more difficult for British clubs to sign international players from Europe’s second tier leagues.

Players from the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina are projected to be easier to recruit and qualify for a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE).

A fully-fledged international player will have an easier time obtaining a GBE, but others will need to gain 15 points or more, depending on the quality of the league and competitions they participate in.
