Martin Keown has pushed Arsenal to sign Adama Traore from Wolves.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal roster has been decimated by injuries and Covid-19 outbreaks, so it’s no secret that he needs to reinforce his squad during the transfer window.
As a result, there have been numerous rumours that he will aim to improve the squad by adding another midfielder and striker to the attack in order to stay in the race for the top four slots.
With only 18 months left on Traore’s contract, Wolves are reportedly leading the chase for the big man. Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his squad, and talks over a £20 million deal for the big man are ongoing.
Former Arsenal defender Keown, on the other hand, believes his old club should be competing with Spurs for Traore’s signature. Keown told BBC Final Score: ‘I think Traore is awesome at times, and for once, we have the satisfaction of seeing it.’
‘He gives a great finish.’ If I were a manager, I’d sign him. Arsenal, get in there and get him.’
Spurs should be vying for Traore’s signing. In an interview with BBC Final Score, Keown said: ‘I think Traore is amazing at times, and we get the satisfaction of seeing it once in a while.’
‘He gives a great finish.’ If I were a manager, I’d sign him. Arsenal, get in there and get him.’
Many people believe Traore belongs at one of the Premier League’s elite clubs, and with good reason: he possesses numerous outstanding characteristics.
His final delivery, though, is not good enough, and bringing him to the Arsenal squad right now would not contribute goals to the offense.
The Gunners need a finisher and another central midfielder this month, so spending £40 million on a man who has only scored once in his last 22 Premier League outings is a waste of money.
So we’d be surprised if Traore joined Arsenal, and it’s far more likely that he joins Spurs.
