There was nothing to separate the two title rivals at the Etihad this evening as it ended in a 2-2 draw between Pep Guardiola’s Man City and Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Kevin De Bruyne gave the Cityzens an early lead but the Reds soon equalised through Diogo Jota who finished off a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross.
City were able to regain their lead before halftime though, as Gabriel Jesus capitalised on a switch off from the Liverpool defence to knock in a Joao Cancelo cross.
The visitors wasted no time in getting back on level terms after the restart as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane combined to get behind the hosts’ defense.
City had the best chances to win the game with Raheem Sterling’s goal narrowly choked off for offside and Riyad Mahrez coming very close on two occasions.
2-2 was how it ended with Man City still maintaining their one point advantage over Liverpool at the league summit.
