Barcelona are about closing in on the contract  renewal of French star Ousmane Dembele.

Ousmane Dembele whose contract expired on the 30th of June which means that Dembele is free to go to any club of his choice freely without Barcelona being involved in the deal.

Before Dembele became a free agent, he received attention from Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea. Paris Saint Germain and Dembele have not been able to speak on anything reasonable as it ended in a breakdown.

Chelsea who showed an initial interest in Ousmane Dembele have now pulled out as they are more interested in signing Raphinha from Leeds. Barcelona is also a big name in the pursuit for Raphinha.

Ousmane Dembele having seen that he has no other choice than to stay in Barcelona, is now doing his very best to remain in the club.

Barcelona signed Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for €105m (£98m). Dembele has only won a single La Liga with Barcelona. Dembele came in 2017 when Barcelona lifted the trophy.

Dembele is expected to renew his contract with Barcelona for three more years but currently, Barcelona have put Dembele’s contract renew on hold.
