Arsenal must act fast as target is confirmed for January move

Arsenal must act quickly after Borussia Monchengladbach confirmed Denis Zakaria’s departure after he refused to sign a new contract.

Despite wanting to resolve the issue before the winter transfer market started, the club’s sporting director Max Erbel recently stated that they had not been successful.

“I didn’t want to be subjected to this stalling tactic.” I wanted to make some decisions before the winter vacation began. “We ultimately wanted to nail our heads,” Erbel reportedly told Sky (via Sport1).

Meanwhile, Zakaria is alleged to have told the club last summer that he intended to leave and that he would ‘not consider’ signing a new contract.

According to sources, Arsenal has been in contact with Zakaria’s agents on and off for a few years, and he turned down Arsenal and Liverpool four years ago.

“You will be thrown out if you get in England and are not immediately good.” It was too soon for me.”

“There was interest from England, which I can confirm,” Zakaria said in a separate interview. “However, the people at Borussia really fought very hard for me.”

“I had the sensation that they really wanted me, which impressed me, and my intuition told me that Gladbach was the best option for me.”

“With time, I’ll be able to go on to a bigger club; history has shown that.”

He’ll be a Gunner shortly if Arsenal respond quickly.
