Arsenal’s scouting department has been strengthened by the addition of Florian Bluchel from Bayern Munich.
Bluchel, 37, spent more than a decade with the Bundesliga giants, rising through the ranks from video analyst for the youth teams to Head of Technical Scouting, with his most recent role as International Scout focused on the Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, North American, and German markets.

He will work as the club’s International First Team Scout at Emirates Stadium, where he will mix traditional scouting methods with video analysis and next-gen player profiling.
Bluchel is a former German Bundesliga wrestler who competed in continental junior championships for his country in 2001 and 2004 at the European Championships.
Arsenal have already strengthened their scouting department by hiring the man who brought Neymar and Philippe Coutinho to Europe for the first time.
Toni Lima, a former Andorra international and the country’s most capped player, has previously worked for Manchester United, Inter Milan, and the Brazilian Football Federation.
Romain Poirot has been named as first team scout, with an emphasis on the French football market, according to football.london.

Poirot began his career as a full-time academy scout at Nottingham Forest in 2008, before moving on to Manchester City two years later, where he rose through the ranks from scout to European Football Consultant.
Last summer, the Gunners’ scouting department was severely decimated, with head of international recruitment Francis Cagigao and senior scouts from Germany, Spain, Italy, and France all departing.
James Ellis, a scout from From Fulham, was hired to the department earlier this summer.
Ellis was the Cottagers’ first team scout for the UK and Europe, and his duty at Emirates Stadium will be primarily domestic.
