Everton centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to Lee Dixon, would be a fantastic signing for Arsenal.
The north Londoners have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old striker, who scored 16 Premier League goals last season but has missed the majority of this season due to a fractured toe.
With Alexandre Lacazette’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Gunners will be in the market for a new forward, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the Emirates is in serious doubt after the Ganoesse was stripped of the captaincy a few days ago.
Lee has backed their efforts to move the Toffees forward.
‘Would Calvert-Lewin be a good fit for Arsenal? Yes, I believe so. ‘I think you’d have a hard time getting one of the best strikers in the world, like [Erling] Haaland,’ he told MailOnline.
‘With no disrespect to Everton, that would be a step up for Calvert-Lewin.
‘I like him, and I believe he has the ability to be as excellent as he wants to be.’ He is strong and good in the air, as well as a terrific finisher, and he is fit and athletic. ‘I’d gladly take him.’
According to NBC Sports, Arsenal is the latest team to be keeping an eye on Barcelona’s Sergino Dest, with manager Mikel Arteta an admirer of the versatile defender.
